| "entrepreneur" keyword search trend in June 4 - 10 2017 |
*Interest:
Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart for the given region and time. A value of 100 is the peak popularity for the term. A value of 50 means that the term is half as popular. Likewise a score of 0 means the term was less than 1% as popular as the peak.
Upon drilling down the data I got, it showed that the peak happened on the week of June 4 to June 10 with June 6, 2017 as the exact date with the highest interest. So I wonder, what happened on that date? Why did people suddenly had an interest or searched for the word "entrepreneur"? I looked the Philippine calendar of events that month and June 6 falls on a Tuesday. No special events or holidays except for June 12: Independence Day and June 27: Eidul-Fitar.
If you look at the data per region, the highest interest is coming from Eastern Visayas, followed by ARMM, MIMAROPA, Calabarzon, Central Luzon and so on. Although this might not be relevant as Geo Data is based on location services which needed to be turned on manually. If it will be based on IP address, then the population with the most internet connections will be on top of the list. For short, it is not that accurate.
To find out what happened during that week, I had to customize my Google Search with the following configuration: Country = Philippines, Date Range = June 4 to 10 2017, and sorted by date which shows the latest date on top.
A few news articles showed up on my search results. The one from Manila Bulletin was an article from Manny Villar with th title "Once an entrepreneur, always an entrepreneur*". I don't know if such and article from him would cause a trend that day, but it's still Manny Villar. He might have a lot of following.

I also saw an article from BusinessMirror with the title "Web-based recruitment in PHL grew 6% in June" by by Roderick Abad. Still it did not mention June 6 and the plus the date of the article is August 8, 2017 (remind me to tell you another year in review about this date)
Lastly and the one I overlooked despite being on the top of the search results was an article from Inquirer. My first assumption when I saw this peak is that there was a massive digital marketing campaign for an event about entrepreneurs, but I was wrong. It was a tragic event that happened last June 7, 2017.
The article authored by Melissa Legarda Alcantara says "British-Filipino IT entrepreneur among 7 killed in London terrorist attacks". A short summary of this incident states that the terrorists killed people by stabbing them with knives and running them over with a van.

So there you have it. There was no digital marketing campaign or events that had Filipinos searching or clicking articles on the internet with the word "entrepreneur". Just a spike brought upon by a tragic event that happened on that date.
