Working at home has a lot of benefits. Imagine not waking up to a sound of an alarm clock. Not rushing to take a bath, not being pressures on what to wear, and not deciding if you will sacrifice your breakfast because you are already running late.
For some women it is worse because they still need to do their hair and put on make-up and all their other accessories. I am not surprised why some of them wake up extra early just to cope up with this routine.
After this there is traffic and commuting woes. For most of my career life I have endured this. If I bring a vehicle, I get stuck for more than three hours in traffic. No way you could catch a nap if you are sleepy. No way to park on the side of the road because the roads are mostly highways. If you need to take a piss you need to hold it as long as you can. Oh the pain and fear of wetting yourself.
Commuting is just as bad because there are times that there are no available public utility vehicles. Buses and trains are packed up. It is very easy to get into a fight. And if you survive this, there is always the next bad thing --- seeing your a-hole office mates everyday. The only thing that got me going is my love for what I was doing.
Yep, if only there was an alternative that time where money and benefits is as stable as working as a full-time employee, I would have resigned years ago. And now there is, and you get to do what you want or love to do.
My tip here if you want to work as a freelance or want to work at home is plan and prepare ahead. Because for online jobs, there is a whole lot of stiff competition. Not only from people who has the same or better skill sets than you, but also from veteran freelancers who already had years of experience and solid portfolios of their work.
