This video will explain how minimalism can save you money.
The easiest way to lose all your money is not only by spending, but spending it on items that you just want and not essentially need.
With minimalism you only spend for what you need, and most of them are enough already.
During my training when I joined a mountaineering club, we are taught to pack light. Bring only the stuff that we need for the climb. Everything is calculated and weighed. Surprisingly, we can also do this in our lives. And when you do, everything becomes so much lighter. Remember, the more things you have, the more worrisome you become because you have to oversee so many things.
Just take for example having two cars instead of one. Everything from maintenance to accessories becomes doubled. Same with having a big house. Instead of being able to clean it regularly, it becomes too cumbersome.
A friend of mine once regretted winning a luxury vehicle in a raffle. They are just a simple family and have no means to afford gas, given that the vehicle they won is an SUV and a known gas guzzler. He really loved the vehicle and did not want to sell it and just used it despite the huge expenses. Time passed and when he decided to sell, the resale value is already too low. Now that vehicle is just a junk on their backyard. If only he sold it the moment he won it, he could have used the money for something else.
Saving by way of minimalism is just an end product. It is just s a bonus of having a simple life. You can still save by other means like by not to spending more than you earn. But that is a topic for another day.
